MINUTES
January 7, 2008
ATTENDING

CALL TO ORDER
President Lisa Shambaugh called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes of the meeting December 10, 2007. Motion carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT
- Treasurer Julie Deak presented her report. As of December 31, 2007 dues have been received from 59 members. Three members have outstanding balances.
- Revenue $6,621.27
- Expenses $4,501.53
- Net gain for the year $2,119.74
- It was moved and seconded to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT
- Because there was not a quorum at the last meeting, we reaffirmed the decision made then to approve the recommendation of the Nominating Committee of Don Sutton, Lisa Shambaugh and Joyce Lund.
- It was moved and seconded to bring the following slate of officers to the annual meeting in January for a vote.
- President: Don Brown
- Vice President: Patsy Carega
- Treasurer: Julie Deak
- Secretary: Bob MacArthur
- Motion carried.
MARKETING COMMITTEE REPORT
- Don Brown reported on the December 12th meeting of the Marketing Committee.
- Membership Fees for 2008
- The Marketing Committee’s recommendation is that the Membership Fee remains at $75. The cost of an enhanced listing on the web site to include picture and expanded write up is an additional $50.
- Affinity Groups
- Additional ads or marketing projects may be undertaken by Affinity Groups with the costs born by those groups. One such group, a Tour Guide Committee, began forming during the meeting and includes Judy Dunlap, Susan Davies, Betsy Leiper, and Diane Johnson.
- Brochure
- We engaged in a lively discussion of enhancements to the current brochure, including incorporating the new logo, using color(s), repositioning the heading and the overall feel of the current design.
- Annual Meeting
- The Annual Meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Corner House Inn. A brief annual meeting will be followed by a light dinner and social hour. The cost will be $15.00 per person, which includes food, non-alcoholic beverage, tax and gratuity.
- It was agreed that we should contact members and potential members to insure a good turn out. Individuals volunteered to contact members by letter, a telephone call and an email reminder.
NEXT MEETING
- The next meeting will be February 4, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. at the Corner House Inn.
ADJOURNMENT
- The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 a.m.
