MINUTES
June 1, 2009
ATTENDING: Ben Adriance, Gunnar Berg, Don Brown, Patsy Carega, Susan Davies, Julie Deak, Susan Lirakis, Nancy Papp, Lisa Scott, Tim Miner, Diane Johnson, Don Sutton
Chairman Don Brown called the meeting to order at 8: 40 a.m. at Mocha Rizing.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the May 4, 2009 meeting were approved.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Julie reported a balance of $3,392.06 as of 5/31/09. The Treasurer’s report was approved.
MARKETING COMMITTEE UPDATE
- Brochures: A robust group of people sorted the brochures into the proper numbers for bulk delivery. Sandwich Home Industries brochures were inserted into most of them. They were delivered to the post office on May 19th. Reports were that they were received in several of the towns within a day or two. BRG was given 10,000 for distribution. Individuals will also be delivering them to B&Bs, etc in the local area.
- Gallery Walks: They will be held on June 19th, July 17th, and August 14th from 5-7pm. Other businesses in Center Sandwich may want to take advantage of the events.
- Weirs Times: Donna Lawton has asked whether the SBG is interested in a collaborative town ad for the July 4th edition (deadline is June 25th). Don Brown will send out information to the membership.
- NH Promotions: Susan Davies noted that the state has an interesting promotional scavenger program (I Love It Here). Photos of people holding a “I Love it Here” placard (available via state website) may get into NH Magazine.
- Discover Sandwich Website: Don Sutton reported that the new categories have been installed on the website. The 2009 artistic map has also been installed with the appropriate locator numbers referenced on the individual listings.
- Projects for the summer have been completed.
OTHER BUSINESS
Lisa Scott discussed the potential coordinator position at the Senior Resources Center. She was interested in seeing whether there were other non profits that may be interested in sharing resources since the unemployment insurance costs are siginficant for a single entity with one or two part time employees.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9:20am. The next meeting is scheduled for September 14th - 8:30am at Mocha Rizing.

Following the regular meeting, Tim Miner presented information concerning renewable energy and conservation efforts.
